103 people injured · 23 homes collapsed

Preliminary toll as of 6:30 a.m. on August 18, 2026. Nationwide, UNGRD reports 29,554 homes destroyed and 134,342 damaged (163,896 properties with some level of damage), plus 303 health facilities, 3,443 schools and 3,905 community centres affected, across 472 municipalities in 15 departments. UNGRD cleaned the registry by cross-checking the initial, largely verbal reports against the Attorney General's Office, the Medical Examiner and rescue agencies to remove duplicates: that is why the counts of people killed and missing have fallen and risen again between bulletins. The departmental breakdown corresponds to the August 13 report and has not been updated by the authority. “Homes” and “buildings” keep the category used by each regional authority; the figures are still being consolidated.

You see where every gift goes.

This is the campaign's approach: act on confirmed needs, back local capacity and make the path of the aid visible.

The response is held up by many people at once.
01

We verify the need

We listen to leaders, organizations and teams on the ground to prioritize what is genuinely missing and where it can reach.

02

We mobilize the resources

We turn contributions into water, food, shelter, health care and logistics, avoiding shipments of items nobody asked for.

03

We deliver and report back

We coordinate delivery with local partners and document where the aid went so we can share results and evidence.

Priorities and deliveries will be defined together with partners and authorities on the ground, according to verified needs and access conditions.

WHERE TO HELP

We know where
it's needed.

These are the places and organizations the campaign is working with. We publish a need once it is confirmed with the organization or with local leaders; until then, we say it is still being verified.

Do you know a shelter, a collection center or an organization that needs help? Tell us and we'll verify it before publishing. Report a point
